Hooks and Scythes

Since mankind's first steps into Agriculture these tools have evolved to assit in clearing and harvesting:

  • Bill Hook ~ (far right) there are literally dozens of different shapes and forms of this tool, many still bearing the name of the county in which they originated.
  • Brushing Hook ~ (2nd from left) is designed designed for clearing brush and thistles.
  • Dunse Slasher ~ (3rd from left) is used in the maintenance and layering of hedges.
  • Grass Hook ~ used for small patches of rough grass.
  • Jungle "Knife" ~ (4th from left) is used to clear rough grassy areas.
  • Reaping Hook ~ used for instance in cutting small areas of hay or reed.
  • Scythe ~ a traditional tool for cutting large areas of grass and hay.
